Golden Home Return Association Canada- GHR, was created to meet the needs of most community and cultural associations which was lacking in other major and similar schemes in North America. GHR is owned, developed, run, and managed by all GHR member associations through their respective representatives. We are a grassroots association using self-organization, encourage community members to contribute by taking responsibilities and actions for their community. Golden Home Return Association leadership are volunteers voted by member associations to serve in various role in the association. In other word GHR is owned by member associations with each group or affiliated association entitled to voting rights. Contributions are made to the beneficiary upon receipt of the officially requested documentation spelt out by Golden Home Return association guidelines.  This program will provide active adherents upon death with a fixed amount for the repatriation of the mortal remains of love ones back to their country of choice or place of burial. At Golden Home Return Association, we are one family and one strong community.

History and Relevance of GHR

Golden Home Return (GHR) Association Canada was created in 2018 as a social scheme to pool financial resources together for the benefit of its members all in times of death. The aim of the social scheme is to support the repatriation, or the burial of member’s mortal remains. GHR was created with total autonomy, democratic practices and transparency with   representatives from each member associations constituting the general assembly.  The owners of the GHR are the cultural associations with each association having one vote. This equal representation in GHR is to ensure transparency and collective participation of member Associations or Groups affiliated to GHR.

GHR brings together like minded cultural associations and groups of the English sections of Cameroon based in Canada to minimize cost of repatriation or burial.

At some point in life, some people are worried about how life will end and how their love ones will cope with the ever-rising cost of burial or repatriation of mortal remains. But for many, every stage of life, being able to plan for one’s own end of life as an individual and the community is even more desirable. The strength of GHR is therefore based on transparency, Integrity and services to the community. enshrined in its board of director’s management practices. The decisions made by the GHR board of directors are therefore influenced by the values they hold in GHR.

GHR is community driven and will continue to do everything in its power to encourage everyone in the community including children, visiting parents, students, asylum and refugees  and love ones to get registered into the scheme and alleviate the potential burden that may arise in the event of a lost of a love one.
